Rebecca Epp
K-1-2 Teacher
My name is Rebecca Epp and I have been teaching at Kenaston School in grades K/1/2 for more than 10 years. If you were to look back at my school memories book that started when I was in Kindergarten, you would notice that I have always wanted to be a Kindergarten teacher. So, I guess you could say that I have my dream job. I am an avid reader and will usually be found with a book in my hands in my spare time. My absolute happy place is at the lake - camping, swimming, paddle-boarding, hiking, bike riding and of course reading. My husband and I have been married for a few years now. Between us we have 6 children, one of whom is married and has 2 little boys. At the school I can be found working canteens for tournaments, planning the annual Terry Fox walk, planning graduation, and helping in any way that I can.
Cindy Menzies
Grade 7-8 & Student Support Teacher
.About Me:
My name is Mrs. Cindy Menzies and I live in Kenaston. I have been teaching in Kenaston since my internship in 1998. I taught my first two years sharing between Davidson and Kenaston. In my twenty years, I have taught every grade from K-12 in a variety of subjects! In my family there is my husband, Mike Menzies, who is a Manager at the Riverbend Agro Coop in Strongfield, and our three children Eric and Brady, and Emily who all attend Kenaston School. We have a new puppy Cookie and we have 3 fish: Daphne, Red Stripe and Batman Returns. I love teaching, spending time with my kids, reading, being outside, and baking. I love being part of this school and community– the staff is supportive and energized and the students are kind, helpful and enthusiastic. This community is warm and welcome, and we call it home. Favourites: chocolate, strawberries, Diet Pepsi, Garth Brooks, and daisies Least favourites: brown beans, cauliflower, cotton candy
I am the JR Volleyball Coach with Mr. Gasper and Awards Day coordinator, and this year I will be supporting the SLT with the Kenaston House Cup – GO YELLOW!!!
Mitchell Sakundiak
Grade 7-8 & Sask DLC Teacher
Mitchell has worked at the Sunwest DLC for a few years and spent many hours at Kenaston School on supervision or to help coach different sports. He's happy to have a role this year with both schools - part time through the (new) Sask DLC and part time working with the middle years and high school classes along side Mrs. Menzies and Mr. Weber.
Marcy Waldner
Gr 7-12 ELA & Humanities
Hi there! I'm one of the middle years & high school teachers for our school and teach Grades 7-12 ELA, Social/History, and other humanities subjects, like Psych and Law. I love these classes and the great conversations and experiences students share with each other within them. I incorporate and use a lot of technology in the learning, using many resources both in and out of the classroom, and hope to make what we do here meaningful.
You can check out my clasroom Instagram page (linked below) to peek at what things look like inside my classes.
